I used the jnlp link and launch the app from a bookmark in firefox. When I created a link on my desktop, I did not have my previous settings.
The path to the mozilla settings is /home/jbenton/.java/.userPrefs/org/sdrinovsky/sdsvn/f8e27a80-8c3d-4f0c-b5c8-001cd4c9d08e/prefs.xml
