It would be nice if one could define his own keymappings for the keys of the WiiMote, e. g. via the config file, or maybe even by some GUI.

dhewg, consider using our new Keymapper. DJWillis and me are working on that now, but a helping hand would not hurt.

Additionally, controller extension like the classic controller and the nunchuck should get mapped with the keymapper
