SCUMMVM 1.5 GIT WIN32
SIMON 1 CD DOS FRENCH
At the Drunken Druid when asking for a drink, the barkeeper kneels down to look for ingredients,
but sometimes in the process his standing animation is not cleaned or erased and remains stuck there, until he stands up again.
It seems to happen when you ask for the drink as the barman is busy getting a refill for the beer drinker on the right.
It doesn't always happen, but to replicate this, try and talk to the barman and ask for a drink when the guy is making a hand-sign to get a beer,
or when he is sending his mug to the barman.
You can get there from the beginning of the game, but I'll attach a savegame anyway.
Thanks for making ScummVM!
Have tried a few times and can't seem to replicate this with Simon1DOS English, but suspect this is a minor script bug which requires very precise timing to trigger, possibly only in the French version... Since this is a transient GFX glitch and probably in the original, I would suggest this is closed and the issue added to either AGOS/TODO or BUGS....
misterhands: Can you please try running your version with the original interpreter under DOSBox and see if you can replicate the issue there i.e. if it is a bug present in the original?
I have tried a number of times with DOSBox and I can't reproduce the glitch.
It's easy to get it with ScummVM so it may be a ScummVM bug.
I happen to also have the English version of Simon1 and I have tried it but couldn't replicate it. It may indeed be specific to the French version.
Tell me if you need anything else !
misterhands: It would be helpful to eliminate the possibility of corrupted datafiles causing this, if you could attach a text file to this bug containing a list of your Simon 1 DOS French datafiles with file MD5sums. The output of a tool such as http://md5summer.org/ would be optimal.
Apart from that, we should have enough to investigate. Please be patient and standby as it may take some time for an AGOS engine dev to look at this.
Well, I've played through the game some time ago and didn't encounter any problems, save the four I have reported.
Moreover this glitch doesn't happen with DOSBox, so the probability of the datafiles being corrupted is quite low IMO.
Anyway, here is the MD5sums file.
Thanks !
