Hi, I've been trying to get ScummLinux 0.3.1 to work, but so far haven't succeeded. I can create the .iso fine with a few games, burn it, but when I try to boot the computer with it, the computer just reboots itself. Rebooting seems to occur just when the loader has loaded the kernel and the video mode is being switched.
The computer itself has previously been running Debian woody with various 2.4.x kernels successfully, so I assume it shouldn't have any prejudices against penguins in general.
I see from isolinux.cfg that the kernel is being fed these parameters:
I suspect that it could be the vga= -parameter that is causing this, maybe the graphics adapter (Matrox G550) does not support the mode? Is there any particular reason for using the parameter (does the frontend for games require it?) or is it just for eyecandy purposes? Anyway, I'll try to build another iso without the vga console and see what happens.

Well, it didn't work when I removed the vga and video options either. Reboots just the same way.
I've been running the .iso generator with only the --aspect-ratio option, I'll give it a try without it also ... after that, I'm totally out of any ideas. :-/

Experimented a bit more... Problems seem to circle around the Matrox G550. I tried the same cd on another computer which has quite much the same hardware except for the graphics adapter, which is Geforce4 4800SE. Everything works on that computer like dream. Does anyone have success stories with the G550 (or any Matrox cards in general)?

try a more actual gpu bios update for the graphics card...
