ScrollServer 0.5 Released

This version uses css stylesheets for an attractive appearance. The groundwork is being laid for a skinning ability through your choice of stylesheet. Because css support varies across browsers, I'd like to hear of any ugliness. Be sure to say what browser you're using.

Beneath the hood the code has been cleaned up and organized. There are also three new pages and a spiffy navigation bar.

I may have run across a bug in the urlparse python library that is tickled when the port is in the uri (e.g., http://foo.bar.baz:XXXX\). So I wrote my own uri parser.... read more

ScrollServer Initial Release

I am very pleased to announce the initial public release of ScrollServer, version 0.4.

ScrollServer is a Python based http server that provides access to a scrollkeeper database with any web browser.

ScrollServer is in very early development, but it is already useful. It has been tested on RedHat 7.1 and Debian Woody. Reports of success or failure on other systems greatly appreciated.

I'm working towards a 1.0 release which will implement basic functionality.
It must be usable in text browsers but attractive in X.
It must Serve all documentation formats supported by ScrollKeeper.
It must provide browsing by document title or topic.... read more
