Haven't been able to figure if this can be done using Script Communicator as-is, or if a special timing feature would be needed.

Hi,

ScriptCommunicator has a script interface. I think you can implement this with a simple script. In the attachement you can find an example wich every 500ms:
- sends 10 bytes
- receives data for 50ms
- sends 20 bytes
- waits until 500ms have been elapsed
