    Hello,
so far I was using MB-ruler, but this seems not any more developped further and it seems to slow down the system during usage, so I'm looking for an alternative and found ScreenRuler.
Features that I really liked in MB-Ruler:

    • change the scales: e.g .mV and ps could be used
    • Angle measurements (MB-ruler is a triangle ruler)
    • rotation in any direction
    • always on top (I did not find this feature in Screen Ruler)
    • simple calibartion: select start and endpoint of a line, tell the length, and the ruler displays the number of centimeter/mV/ps that are measured (I use the ruler to measure e. g. pictures in .pdf or bitmaps).

in the current version screen ruler does not fit my requirements, but with some added features I think I could use it..

Hello Hermann, thanks for your suggestions.

    • adding new scales should be possible (ScreenRuler supports pixels, centimeters, points, inches and percent at the moment). I'm however not familiar with mV or ps. Could you add some pointers so I can implement them?
    • angle measurement and rotation are requested frequently. They are not easy to add with the current implementation. I'll see what I can do about this but this is unlikely to be added soon.
    • always on top is possible either via the context menu of the ruler (right mouse click) or via pressing "S" while the ruler is focused
    • I will look into simplifying the calibration

Yes pls. review the calibration - this would be really great !

Hotkey's (fine and coarse) + Mouse wheel would be perfect.
I'm working with CAD files and zoom. Therefore I need to adjust calibration often.

By the way, can't find the donation button ;-)
