#26 Blending Firefox and Screem

Mike McKee

What would be really cool is if I could load Firefox
and have a tab for the website I'm working on and
another tab for Screem. Screem could be like a local
web page inside of Firefox that loads a Screem window
as a Mozilla plug-in.

    never going to happen.

firefox, or rather gecko inside screem is now happening, and
available via --enable-mozilla in CVS, or 0.17.1, although
    it is far from done.

How about an app switch toolbar button? Normally I already
have Firefox open when working with Screem. I could click
this and it would automatically switch to the existing
Firefox window, nothing more -- no need to open a new tab,
window, instance in Firefox or redirect to any page -- just
switch to that app. And if that app is closed, it could
automatically load it. And if someone uses a non-Firefox
browser, it could have a preferences setting so you could
type in your favorite browser name.

I personnaly consider Screem as a complete gtk based
developper software, not a Firefox plugin.

It would be a huge work to do this and I am not sure that
working with a plugin of this size would be really pleasant.

Moreover I don't understand what benefit could we get to
    type Ctrl+Tab instead of Alt+Tab.

That indeed is a welcome feature, other rendering-engines
    would also be welcome

What is different about this request from the following,
    rather automatic scenario:

    Screem > Firefox[instance01_tab01] Helper > now viewing
    "remote.file.php.html" on domain name dotcom

    new tab > Firefox[instance01_tab02] > goto location h t t p
    localhost local.file.php.html

@MM: i beg your pardon, what am i missing?

    That would kind of suck...
