Turn Off context HTML popups

About the only thing I like to turn on in my Screem is
the PHP function information as a "tooltip". Unlike
some users, I'm not a fan of "intellisense" kind of
popups as I type. Unfortunately, one thing I cannot
seem to turn off is when I type something like this in
a PHP file:
echo "<
...and all of a sudden the HTML popdown list shows up
and slows me down. I mean, usually I'm just telling it
to do "<BR>", so this intellisense popup serves me very
little good. Is there a way to turn that off?
Note I have the Screem that ships with Ubuntu Linux
5.10 "Breezy Badger".

Just in case this feature would be touched, please complete
the language references for html and css.
For example: the <link is correctly completed with for
example rel=" but this in turn is only completed with CDATA
