Erm, how do i set it so that it knows i'm editing a php document and does the correct syntax highlighting. I can't seem to get it out of php 'mode'
The mode goes off the type of the file as determined by gnome, you can override this on a per document basis with the drop down in the status bar.
This settings does not persist so next time you open the document it will be treated as whatever type gnome thinks it is.
The status bar is located at the very bottom of the main screem window. There's a drop down box just to the left of where it says the line and column numbers (it's normally set to "HTML document" for new blank documents, or maybe that's just the case with me).
