#298 No special character translation into entities

I have been using screem to run my website ( www.kihaku-dremmen.de) ever since. Screem had any special characters (like umlauts: öäü) translated into entities (ä) while typing. After upgrading my system to ubuntu 8.04 this translation is gone! Now I have to this by hand - a hard thing on german website :-)
ubuntu 8.04 is using Screem 0.16.1, I have no idea whoich version my previous installed ubuntu 7.10 used.
