Starting with release rel-20020323 Scream supports recoursive evaluations in constant space -- a.k.a. tail recursion. The spec defines this as *required* for a Scheme implementation. So now this is nearly really Scheme ;^)

Scream initially used a JavaCC scanner that had a lot of shortcomings. With release 20010916 it switched to a brand new scanner based on JFlex also found on SourceForge. All the old problems went away and Scream's cooler than ever...
