Hi, i'm looking into using the computer as a tool for mixing, don't really want to run windows or anything, too mainstream and not powerfull enough so been looking at the alternatives, the way i see it you can either get some special hardware, or use existing turntables which are readily available at all clubs etc.

So, to sum it up, how well does this work and how reliable is it?

There doesn't seem to be and applications supporting scratchlib other than your sample app.

I haven't had a look at the code yet, but there is a sample app at least i see and the code seems pretty clean. As long as it can play a track and read the timecode properly i suppose that would be enough really, and i'd be able to develop something more advanced around this.

Also a minor point, but does it support playing records backwards, i heard that Final Scratch (and traktor i assume) can't do this.

How is scratchlib being used today, the project seems to be in the initial stages.

Also, what soundcard would you suggest? Would be a big plus if it was able to operate without computer connected but not an absolute requirement.

Regards,
Morgan
