Hi, I found that geany 1.23.1 does not highlight backslash escaping symbols in perl scripts, as example:

print "that\'s my test";

\' - should be highlighted here.

another example with perl regex:
$var =~ s/.*(\d+)-(\w+)/$1/g;

in this example \d and \w should be highlighted.
In VIM editor such highlighting schema works, it would be awesome if it will be done in geany same way

Another feature that is also useful to have ability to set different colors for {} and [] and () brackets, currently they are under a single class :(

    Personally (as a regular LexPerl bug fixer) I don't have plans for such highlighting; I'm not a believer in segmenting highlighting into every possible major and minor semantic element. Perhaps others might think otherwise and offer a patch. HTH.
