No

I have automatic autocompletion enabled. Often when
I'm typing, the last word on a line will get
autocompleted when I didn't intend it to. For example,
I tried to end a line with "of<CR>" but the "of" got
mached to "often" and the <CR> confirmed the
autocompletion.

Of course, the same mishap could occur with <TAB>, but
in normal typing I rarely use <TAB> after a word.

There should be a way to disable <CR> as a confirmation
of autocomplete.

The behaviour was originally that only tab would cause
autocompletion but too many people wanted Enter so it was
added. I find automatic autocompletion unusable so it is up
to others to work on options here.

The people that wanted Enter were not considering the
serious problem it would cause, don't you agree?

Are you saying that it's up to others to provide a patch to
    provide the option?

IMO automatic autocompletion is the problem. In common use,
autocompletion occurs via an explicit choice or when '.' is
pressed so the user is aware of the list. I will accept a
well written patch that offers a choice to not trigger on Enter.
