I get the message: Could not open file ". Better would be treating this as a file-close action, i.e. prompting to save if modified or doing nothing if empty.
To me it would make more sense to just clear the document.
That would be fine (the main issue is the odd error). I think it should be undo-able though, otherwise you could accidiently lose data.
