The `smart pinyin' engine suggests really odd completions.
For example, when I type `gaoxing', it suggests 高行, which
is not a phrase as far as I know, instead of 高兴, which is.
It even does that when I've turned on the tones and type in gao1xing4!
If I input 高兴 repeatedly, I can convince it to make it the second choice,
but 高行 still remains as the first choice.

I've tried many other common phrases like 吃饭 and sometimes I can
make it the first choice but it never seems to get it right on the first try.

An issue like this was posted before in May complaining about poor
choices for traditional characters with pinyin. I assure you it also
applies to the simplified character output.
