ASCII input mode is necessary to enable "Share the same
input method among all applications" option and to use
it efficiently, because the native language input isn't
necessarily desired when applications is being brought
out. so all IMEs should have a capability to prevent
it, i.e. should support ASCII input mode.

Attached patch will allows people to use ASCII input
mode and enhance usability for people who don't exactly
know the keybindings so that the input mode and the
input layout is now selectable on the panel.

    Good work!

Do you have any plan to use "Shared mode" with other im engine?
Anyway when I have time, I will apply the patch to the up
    stream.
(Today, cvs in sf.net does not work)

    Thanks :)
Yes, we have. we need this mode for all IMEs we use. we
    can't enable "Shared mode" otherwise.
