This as due, in part, to the limitation of subject in SF so I had to cut it down.
While testing/working with scim I found many instabilities or strange artifacts.
Many of them are hard to catch. But I am trying to create a PR every time I see these
kind of problems so such problems are documented.
This is one of them.
While switching to and from Smart Pinyin I spotted the scim window with only one "Smart Pinyin" button
and no other buttons "Input mode" button or "Input state" button.
Clicking on this button method selection menu showed up and other methods were selectable.
But they didn't work.
I would like to keep this PR open until the reason is established and fixed, or code is improved in some ways
leading us to believe that this kind of problem went away.
There ere some other strange artifacts. These kind of problems might be due some memory corruption, but
I am not sure.

I can't quite catch what you mean.
Please describe more detailed.

- SCIM version and the packager of it
Situation:
- What happened.
- When it happend.

- What do you mean by "prompt" and "button" in your post?

What about debugging SCIM?
It seems like SCIM-Pinyin and libpinyin have some bugs which cause memory corruption.
