#2 config wishes

I'm not sure whether these are already available, but:
1) Can a default directory be specified, so that when I
go to open/save work I don't have to work my way to a
specific directory each time I restart sg?
2) Can the "special character" ability be carried
across to the generation of legends? I'd love to be
able to use "mu" to replace microseconds/microns, etc..
