I really like the docked windows feature. Its one of the things I was hoping for. I've noticed a small bug though. I'm running windows 7 btw... When starting up the program, the window size is always the same (never saves from previous time i opened it), and the chess board is constantly flickering as if stuck between two sizes. This is resolved by resizing the window, but it happens every time i start the program. Thanks again Steve. Great work!! |

Yes, Scid vs. PC 4.9 is officially out, and the web page http://scidvspc.sf.net has had some updates. I can't test the win64 installer myself (which was compiled by Ozkan) and there is a bug about installing it into "Program Files", so it probably has to be installed into a non-privilidged directory. Re this bug below, yes it can happen sometimes necessitating a manual window resize, but not very often in my experience. PS - in SVN i have made a nice adjustment to the gameinfo photos. Click on them and they become small and alligned north-south. What is not correct is to store user data there. It should be installed where everyone can use it (and so \Program Files\scidvspc but user data must be stored in their own space so one user's preferences don't affect other users. I installed it to a friend's Win8 laptop today, and was disappointed to see it would not start. -- Santa |

Aside from that, I am very happy with the features, dockable windows, because I can only occupy half of the screen, using the option dock at bottom, I can put fics below, and have a nice big board. For me, the ultimate would be to have an option: only main board and fics with fics minimalist, only messages and edit line. I'm not satisfied with the popup, if they block all other transactions, should always be locked out above the windows open, sometime they disappear under the locked window and I lose time figuring out what the hell's going on :), for the rest of compliments for the job organic and systematic way you're doing to scid_vs_pc, is truly a unique program. greetings and good work |

You have an old build installed. Please clean your system and install the new svn or 4.9 source and email me if you have trouble. S.A. |

The crash bug closing windows dockable, have been resolved. _The remaining problem is_ related to customizing the size of the windows, if I close and reopen it, I lose all sizes, made previously. I also lose the choice of closed windows, always opens main board and PGN, PGN while I do not need because it breaks up the board. Now running: Scid Vs. PC 4.9 (20 April 2013) ciao e grazie Hello.
