thanks - another icon would be quite good, I guess.

Doesn't seem that you already are convinced to create
mouse-over-info's there additionally... ;-(

I can see that a little bit... too many mouse-overs etc could became
the same pain like the HTML-<blink>-tag got sometime... And I agree that
the most buttons of the main toolbar are self-explaining
definitely, that's why no mouse-over needed there, yes.
Two exceptions:
- the button we were currentyl speaking, "raise all windows"
- the button "start/stop trial-mode"... without help-menu rather
  mouse-over at origin scid-program, I never had guessed what that
  button can be used for

What about following idea:
- interchange the button "start/stop trial-mode" with the button
  "rotate board"
- after that at the rigth side there are the trail-mode-button and the
  raise-windows-button
- that are quite special functions, that are worth to get a mouse over
- all other icons are self-explanining and don't need a mouse over

well, I have to disagree... the icons in the analysis window and in the
tree window are not self-explanining...

Hi Igor,

I was only speaking of the buttons of the mainbar, because I thought,
all other buttons already have got mouse-over-info's.

In the analysis windows, there are all the mouse-overs already now
(I use 4.11, linux version). But you are right, in the tree window in
the left corner below there is also no mouse over at those two buttons.

Remark: I rename subject of this emails now... First issue already got
solved.

yes, you're right. Linux svn-version... But in the tree window, there
are no tips and these icons are really not self-explanining... Maybe we
can convince Steven to change it...

Ok. Had a good think about this. I'm not keen to adding tooltips to
the button bar in any fashion.

Implementing a right-click "What's This" tooltip is hard, but maybe i
will do it, otherwise i will
include a "Button Bar" link in the help index. The button bar is
already in Help under
"Index->Main Window")

I will add tooltips to the tree buttons too.

Also want to say THANK YOU --- for that current enhancement and
generally to that great chess program Scid vs PC!

My aim is to use only this program in the future - I tried a lot of
different chess programs, and most were ok, but always something
missing.

Scid vs PC has got all the functionality now and is very good in use
nevertheless...
And with some additional tooltip / explanation now at some icon it's
absolutely perfect... :-)
