[Scidvspc-users] Network error

Good afternoon from France,

I am new on this list, but I am a fervent scidvspc user.

 

I have a problem, not directly connected with scidvspc, but perhaps some
readers had to resolve it and will be able to help me.

My computer is on Windows 8.1 Enterprise, with a 64bits processor.

Frequently - usually the week-end - I am disconnected when I am playing
chess on Internet (on freechess.org). At first I accused the scidvspc
software (Receiving  a "Read error" windows containing the message :
"Network error Fics will exit.").

Then I tested the server with the Jin client (jin.exe). Same result :
numerous network disconnection on freechess.org the week-end. At this stage
I accused the freechess server.

But I tested some others Telnet chess servers. Same problem the week-end.

 

Now I conclude the problem is on my side : my computer or rather my Internet
access (French Orange Livebox).

Is someone able to help me ? Do I have to modify some parameters somewhere ?
