A code merge is impossible. It was discussed then, and i have no wish to reopen this. It was all instigated by Alex Wagner. > Now, i saw this commit (in how many places I have been vilified without > knowing it?): > http://sourceforge.net/p/scidvspc/code/1920/ > and dawned on me a disturbing thought. I have been a little hard on your project. I made the above change because of the above sentiment , and moreover i feel your code is now maturing. For a long while it has been fairly unstable. > Right now it is very easy to see Scidvspc copyright infringements. > For example in Scid there is a file tcl/utils/win.tcl and i can easily > see (git blame) that most of the lines have been written by "pgeorges" > in 2008 (+98 lines of my code). > In Scidvspc there is an incredibly similar file, also called > tcl/utils/win.tcl, using the same variables names, and that was entirely > written by "stevenaaus" (which then holds all the copyright rights). > and that was entirely written by "stevenaaus" How do you reckon that ? I have appended no (c) to the file. The same file in Scid git has no (c). I have a hunch the origins of this file are from the Tcl wiki, which has a very lax copyright, and may be why Pascal never added a (c) line. I have said alrady, if you wish to assert your copyright more strongly, please advise me of the files, and i will include a copyright F.B for you. Please do not spam the mailing lists anymore, but feel free to contact me. Steven |
