Hi Steve, I'm a recent convert to SCIDvsPC from mainline SCID... I've applied your beta on my Win7 box and while it works fine from what I can see (I've only had a little play with it), the time it takes to open has increased rather dramatically. Opening the app - without loading any database with it - takes over 2 and a half minutes. Most of this time is spent displaying no information to the UI, so I originally thought it was crashing silently. Startup window text is provided below. As you can see it's loading player photos and a large spelling file. I can try opening the app without these, but it was loading quite quickly before applying the new .exe. Let me know if you need more info, the docking seems to work great in all other regards, possibly better than in SCID - as I said, I haven't had a proper play with it.
