Hi all I'm trying to use ScidvsPC to face two engines using an opening book on fedora a linux computer. In the "configure tournament" window I check the option "Use book" and select one from the list. But when the match starts the engines think by themselves from the very first move. I've checked the existence of the books listed and they seem to be in the right place, vg for Performance.bin $ locate Performance.bin /home/emilio/soft/scidvspc/books/Performance.bin /usr/local/share/scid/books/Performance.bin I'm usign Scid vs. PC version 4.8, Project Updated: 4.8, Aug 12, 2012. I downloaded it from the repo and compiled without problems following the instructions. I guess I'm missing something maybe in the engines configuration. Ok, I've just realised that if I make a tournament with two UCI engines then there's no problem using the book. Maybe this feature works only with UCI engines? Best regards Emilio |
