Have you got graph option "invert white" set? Otherwise, I can only think this is an mac 64bit issue. The mac 32 bit app is much more stable.

When I autoannotate a game in scidvsmac, after a while the program goes crazy and the score graph of the game oscillates continuously. It seems that the wchite score is assigned to the black side, or something like this. Any idea of the origin of the problem and how to solve it ? Thanks and best regards

Probably best to disable "adjust filter" on the db tree if we are doing a search. proc ::search::loadFirstGame {} { + set current [sc_base current] + # Disable adjust tree for this base to avoid loading-at-ply changing the just-set search filter + set ::tree(adjustfilter$current) 0

Thank you. I roughly understood meaning of this code. I try to change interval by changing this code. Thank you for teaching!

  • Steven Steven posted a comment on discussion Help

You're in the right spot. t3 is the number to change, but it is not trivial to make it smaller. Change +3 to +2... But more changes are needed. Good luck. Fd-size is the font size. c means characters

  • hirai55hirai hirai55hirai posted a comment on discussion Help

I want to change interval of white move and black move in Column Style. Perhaps this interval is adjusted by the below code of scid.gui in "Scid vs PC-4.24\bin" set t1 [expr $fd_size / 10.0]c set t2 [expr $fd_size / 8.0]c set t3 [expr ($fd_size - 8) / 3.5 + 3 + 0.5*($fd_size > 13)]c .pgnWin.text configure -tabs "$t1 right $t2 $t3" But I can't find out how I should change the code. What should I do for changing interval of white move and black move in Column Style ? Thank you.

Is there a way to add more than 1 automatically (with scores for each variation) I don't think it's hard to do.. I'll probably code this sometime, even just as a patch. I was wrong about this being trivial. It's pretty low level code and hard for me to be motivated to change this as it took me a long time to get this feature to this stage. The idea is reasonable, but not something i'd use.... Maybe one day. See tcl/analysis.tcl: Rewind, request a diagram

Just looking at all the excess fonts Ubuntu has on my system... they really slowed down ScidvsPC's fixed-font dialog as there were over 400 fonts. So, I followed the instructions (linked below) to remove most of the foreign language ones. Hopefully nothing gets too broken. i did have to reinstall scidvspc to clean the font cache (or something). https://askubuntu.com/questions/1239037/removing-all-unnecessary-fonts-from-system

Hello. I've experimenting with the automatic analysis tool, and i think is great. But is kinda limiting that i only add 1 variation per move. Is there a way to add more than 1 automatically (with scores for each variation)?. I'm using stockfish 16.1 with SCID vs PC 4.25 on linux mint 21. Right now i'm doing it manually with the "add all variations" button. I believe that seeing multiple variations per move may help in finding the main "ideas" for a position. 6 variations for every move at a depth...

You're right. My unnecessary over-interpretation - "I thought that if it uses snack and tdom, they must also be *dev when compiling". As you can see, they don't have to. Thank you for paying attention. P.S. Read about the "startup window" console in the help topics. C debugging isn't trivial. make clean Edit Makefile and uncomment DEBUG Then reinstall. Gdb/valgrind are your friends. For full debugging, you may choose to compile your own tcl/tk too. There is basic single Tcl procedure tracking available. Edit start.tcl, change if {0} {set procname update To {1} and from update to any procedure you wish to track.
