Is there any way or a plan to make the text portions of chessbase training books or CDs available on scidb?
For example Paul Morphy - Genius and Myth.cbh or Michael Stean Simple Chess

Yes, this is already planned with next database version. In this version it will be possible to attach documents to databases/games/positions, and the document will be displayed in information window. I don't have a scheduling for next version, but I think it will be released this year.
But I'm not yet sure whether I can decode the ChessBase format for documents (text portions). My current approaches are promising, but it's still a bit problematic.
