Hi everyone,
I installated scidavis again, after cleaning up my pc, an ne as you can see in the attetched screenshot, die Background an the table are black, so that I can not see the values I enter.
There was a change in how the preferences file .scidavisrc was
interpreted. All you need do is go into Edit>Preferences and change
the background colours of the various components
(Edit>Preferences>General>Colors, Edit>Preferences>Tables) to what you
want.
Alternatively, just nuke the scidavisrc file (usually ~/.scidavisrc,
but located slightly different in Windows systems, not sure where).
The config file ~/.scidavisrc certainly does not exist on Linux installations. I'm not sure if it exists on windows, and don't know about Mac.
On Linux, the configuration file for SciDAVis is 'SciDAVis.conf', whose path is usually:
~/.config/SciDAVis/SciDAVis.conf
For some unknown reason, the file SciDAVis.conf is not being generated (or found) on windows 10 - the version used by Claudia Dörr when reporting the issue. This is supposed to be generated in the first run, but, even on Linux, it is generated after some change in preferences or after to open/save a project file and close SciDAVis.
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
I have the same problem. Have you already solved the problem?

I responded to this last week, but for some reason my response didn't make it into SourceForge, so I'm copy-pasting it below:

To change colors or delete the existing config file for SciDAVis solves the problem on Linux. I've tested only the 1st option on windows and it works.
