SciDAVis Feature Requests item #3582214, was opened at 2012-10-31 05:09 Message generated for change (Tracker Item Submitted) made by lotfymercedes You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=968217&aid=3582214&group_id=199120 Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: General Group: None Status: Open Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Mohammad Lotfy (lotfymercedes) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Transparent Layer Initial Comment: I was trying to plot 3 functions which are have common x or Y axis. For example, for the same altitude I have different wind, temperature and humidity. While the value range for the 3 different items varies alot ( ex, for temperature it is two digits while for pressure it is four digits), ploting all values on one graph with the same Y axis will make the two digit variable disappear. The Suggestion is: - To add transparent layer background options, plot many x-y relations and overlay layer together (This way the default option in qtiplot) - To add feature of automatic ploting for this kind of relations with multi-x or multi-y axis with different scale to each curve ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=968217&aid=3582214&group_id=199120 |

Category: General Group: None Status: Open Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Sean (se4n1) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Export options Initial Comment: While SciDAVis undoubtedly produces publishing quality plots, I find it extremely annoying having to post-process them to get them the correct size, perhaps it would be possible in the export options for there to be a field with "tight to border" so we don't have to cut the edges off in GIMP every time we want a plot. it's great making a plot fit an A4 or any other page size but most times people need to export the plot as it appears in the program and not as an object in a page surrounded by whitespace.I use LaTeX so this is especially problematic when making documents as you have a large amount of whitespace around the plot which cant be typeset (readily). Thanks for making an extremely stable and usable product, Sean. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=968217&aid=3438914&group_id=199120 |

Project file is here (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1186986/Distro%20ellipses.sciprj%7E). As an example, try to plot a scatter plot using column named CoPoG2GauX_0 as X, and CoPoG2GauY_0 as Y. They will be detected as empty, and SciDAVis will refuse to add them to the plot. Many more columns exhibit the same issue. These columns are sparsely populated ON PURPOSE, to help with tracking issues within the cellsheet application. Blank values are not zeros. I circumvented the issue by adding a known-good column, then manually switching X and Y to the correct values. Issue seen on: Mac OS 10.6.8, Ubuntu 11.04. Category: General Group: current_stable Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 9 Private: Yes Submitted By: Fellype (fellype) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Memory is not deallocated when objects are deleted Initial Comment: Memory is not deallocated when objects are deleted in SciDAVis. A simple way to verify it is to run the following python script in a SciDAVis note: for i in range(1,501): t=newTable("Table"+str(i),2,1000) t.confirmClose(False) t.close() An additional information is that the memory is not deallocated when a new project is started. I think it is a security issue. Then it is being submitted as "Private" and with highest priority. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=968214&aid=3353950&group_id=199120 |

Lines are seperated by \r and not by \n. Category: General Group: v0.2.4 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Yamile (fisyami) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: plots problems Initial Comment: Hello, I have SciDAVis version 0.2.4 in Ubuntu 10.04 Linux 32 bits, in English language. My problem is: I want to plot 72 graphics simultaneously from a table with 73 columns and 500 rows, SciDAVis make it but something is not good, The vertical scale is confusing because show values decrease, increase and again decrease, for example: -9.8608, -9.8535, -9.8584, -9.8756,-9.8067 I do not understand? Many thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=968214&aid=3307687&group_id=199120 |

Category: None Group: v0.2.4 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: martin (sci1) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: 2D Graphics export bug Initial Comment: In test_exportbug.sciprj I created a 2D-plot named Graph 1. This is the usual way I format my plots. I exported it to svg file format, see test_exportbug.svg to edit it in inkscape or use it in another way. Taking a look at the svg, a problem ocurred. The ticks of the right an upper axis are not exported correctly. That's quite nasty. I use Ubuntu 9.10. But the same problem occurs on Windows 7. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=968214&aid=3306175&group_id=199120 |

Category: None Group: v0.2.4 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Andres Muniz (andresmp) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: importing csv shows missing column Initial Comment: When importing csv files I get missing columns When my csv file looks like this: Profile 1;Profile 2;Profile 3;Profile 4;Profile 5;Profile 6; x;y;x;y;x;y;x;y;x;y;x;y; [m];[m];[m];[m];[m];[m];[m];[m];[m];[m];[m];[m]; 0;1e-008;0;1e-008;0;1e-008;0;1e-008;0;1e-008;0;1e-008; 3.90625e-009;1e-008;3.90625e-009;1e-008;3.90625e-009;1e-008;3.90625e-009;1e-008;3.90625e-009;1e-008;3.90625e-009;1e-008; 7.8125e-009;1e-008;7.8125e-009;1e-008;7.8125e-009;1e-008;7.8125e-009;1e-008;7.8125e-009;1e-008;7.8125e-009;1e-008; And when importing I do not ignore the first line it will import only 7 out of 12 columns. Note that the first line has 6 csv per row while the rest of the file shows 12 per row I'm guessing this is what it's supposed to be but just in case! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=968214&aid=3303225&group_id=199120 |

SciDAVis Bugs item #3298663, was opened at 2011-05-07 13:30 Message generated for change (Tracker Item Submitted) made by blas88 You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=968214&aid=3298663&group_id=199120 Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: None Group: v0.2.4 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Balazs Rudd (blas88) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: undefined token error when opening project with fitted curve Initial Comment: If I open a scidavid project containing fits I get the error message found in the attachment and the fitted curves disappear from my graphs, I have to refit them all. I also receive the same error if I try to manipulate a fit: e.g. I have a data set ranging from x=0 to x=50, I do a linear fit to the region x=[25,40] and later through edit function I want to make the fitted line to be displayed from x=[10,40] instead of drawing the line longer I am greeted with the same "undefined token" message. Same behaviour on kubuntu 11.04 and recent mageia (mandriva). As I have been using scidavis 2.4 without any problems in mandriva 2010.1 I think this is a problem with some newer qt library scidavis depends on. Same error messages in recent qtiplot too. If anybody with knowledge about scidavis program internals points me in the right direction I would be glad to help hunting down the cause. Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=968214&aid=3298663&group_id=199120 |

Category: General Group: None Status: Open Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Thomas (suppersready) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Choose resolution of exported rasterized graphics Initial Comment: It would be very useful if it was possible to set the resolution of images when exporting to pixel-based graphics files like png, tiff, etc.. I saw this feature in projects like scribus or inkscape. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=968217&aid=3297985&group_id=199120 |
