I am a new user of SciDAvis migrated from Origin recently. SCiDAVis is really useful with its python pragramming feature.
a) I find that SCiDAVis is able to open opj files of size 1.4 MB. I saved this origin file as compressed sciprj file for later use. But to my surprise, SCiDAvis crashes.
b) I also fond another unrelated problem. I created project in Scidavis with one table and 2 graphs. I saved it and then when I reopened, I found that one of the graph window, the plot was not showing up. It was a empty graph window.
Please help me with this two issues.
I am using Ubuntu 20.04 and SciDavis 2.3.0
Thanks

Koushik

Roughly the same issue. I had an .opj file created in Origin (~1.7MB). When I opened it in SciDAVis, the tables and the graph were showing up one by one. Then after seconds, all the tables and graphs disappeared and nowhere to find inside the working window of SciDAVis.
I'm using Windows 10 and SciDAVis 2.3.0
Please help!

@Koushik and @LM,
What version of Origin are you using?
Origin files from version 8.x are working fine here (Linux, SciDAVis 2.3.0) - no crashes at all!

I am using Origin 2016 -- 64 bit. In my case, when I open the opj file, SciDavis doesnot crash. The crash happens only after I save the opj file as sciprj or compressed sicprj. Anyways I am redoing all my data on a fresh SciDavis file.

@LM, maybe the version of liborigin (3.0.0 - from 2018) shipped with SciDAVis does not support the file format generated by Origin 2019. So, the best that can be done is send a sample project to the liborigin team and wait for possible support in future versions of both SciDAVis and liborigin.
@Koushik, I would like to check if to save an opj file from origin 2016 causes a crash here (since it doesn't occur with opj from version 8.x). Then I can tell you if it is a problem in SciDAVis/liborigin or in your system.

@Koushik, here is a work around for your issue a):
After loading the opj file, use the 'Project Explorer' (Ctl+E) to identify all the windows with a multiline 'Label'.
For the file '0-it_crashes.opj' in https://sourceforge.net/p/scidavis/scidavis-bugs/403/ these are 'Graph1', 'Graph2', and 'Graph3'.
All three have a 'Label' with an empty second line.
Use "Menu/Windows/Rename Window" to edit those 'Label's and make them single-line.
Save the project in a sciprj or compressed sciprj file. That file does not crash SciDAVis when read.

Regarding issue b)
If you send me a sample project, maybe I can tell you what is wrong.

@fellype, I used Origin 2019b 64Bit to create the .opj file.
Hi Fellype,

@Koushik and @LM, could you attach an opj file (with table(s) and graph(s)) here or send it to me at fellypao©yahoo.com.br (don't forget to replace © by @)?

Thanks Fellype. I had emailed you the files.

Hi Koushik, could you please attach the files to this ticket? That way, one of the developers can check out where the crash is occuring.

Sorry - I thought this was a ticket. Could you please raise a ticket
about SciDAVis crashing, attaching the project file that causes the
crash.

Thanks gbm of identifying the problem in those files. Indeed when the second line in the label is deleted, the file works fine.
