Here's what SCID's File menu looks like:

SCID's File menu contains the following functionalities:

New — creates a new, empty [ScidDatabase].

Open — opens any recognized database on your file system.

Close — closes [TheActiveDatabase].

Finder — opens [TheFileFinder].

Bookmarks — submenu of bookmarks functions; see [TheBookmarkList].

Open base as tree... — opens any database on your file system in [TheTreeWindow].

Open recent base as tree... — opens as tree one of the last 9 previously opened databases.

Maintenance — submenu to compact, classify, sort, or spellcheck databases; see [TheMaintenanceWindow] for more details.

Switch to Database — switches between the opened databases.

1: to 5: — opens one of the last 5 previously opened databases.

... — opens one of the last 6 to 10 previously opened databases.

Exit — Exits Scid.
