On windows 10, when SCID went from 4.7.0 to 4.7.2, it combined all the resource directory locations for Bases, Books, etc under one Option menu item called "Resources..." but now it can't find the Books even thought it is correctly specified.

if you change the entry from
    D:\Users\shirha\Downloads\scid_4.7.2\\bin\books
    to
    .\books
    it works.

    Hi Shirl,
can you give me some more information:
can you test please if "D:/Users/shirha/Downloads/scid_4.7.2/bin/books" works?
Do you enter the path manually or do you select the path with the "..."-Button?
Can you post the line which begins with "set scidBooksDir ..." from your file "options.dat". You find this file in the config directory

The same happened to me (Windows 7, just copied the zip file).
I keep in my user directory a directory dedicated to books files for SCID. Yesterday, I changed the name of that directory and SCID 4.7.4 was not able to localize the last opened book and just showed a black windows.
My solution was to edit by hand in SCID's configuration file, the new address of the last book opened. After that change, the SCID menu (Option -- Resources) can select the new directory with books.
