SCILAB is a useful tool for performing complex calculations and data analysis - and it can be called from TCL/Tk - and Visual TCL is great for making GUI's which can therefore call SCILAB functions... These would be useful additions to SCIBuntu.

I'm not sure if this is the SciRun, BioPSE, BioTensor, BioFEM, BioImage, Seg3D, VisTrails, Fusion, map3d, NCRR CIBC Dataset Archive, CT Data Archive, Vispack, Teem, and Afront packages. If so, it would be very nice to have these packages in SCIBuntu, and even better just in the repository (those that arn't already there).

I agree, Scilab is a must for pretty much everyone related to science
