The charter below is intended to be as lightweight as
possible. It attempts to address:
- how decisions are made without excessive procedure
(majority vote on major decisions only, time limit,
- prevention of evil dictatorship (minimum 3 members)
- copyright of the Cookbook if the group dissolves
Your comments are welcomed. Actually under the present
rules everyone in the Group needs to vote on this (but
please hold off voting till a round of discussion)
Based on the Apache charter and various others I found on
Charter for the SchematicsEditorsGroup
The Group consists of the people named on the Schematics
Cookbook website page SchematicsEditorsGroup.
Major administrative changes to the Scheme Cookbook,
including but not limited to:
* Changing the membership of the SchematicsEditorsGroup
* Publication of the Scheme Cookbook
* Electing a new ElPresidente?
shall be made by a simple majority vote of Group members,
with the vote of the ElPresidente breaking a deadlock. The
current ElPresidente is NoelWelsh. The ElPresidente may, at
their discretion, sport a waxed moustache.
Proposals for votes, and the votes themselves, will be
announced on the schematics-development mailing list.
Unless otherwise stated in the proposal Voters will have 72
hours from the announcement of the proposal in which to
on any proposal. Voters may abstain if they wish. Failure
to vote within the time period for a proposal will be taken
There must be at least three people in the
SchematicsEditorsGroup at any one time. If the membership
should fall below three people the Group will have sixty
days to find sufficient members or be dissolved. If the
Group is dissolved any copyright held by the Group will
revert to the public domain.
