Can someone suggest a better way? > <thread-trouble.ss> I would combine the check of the result with the check that no child thread threw an exception into one test, because they are part of the same overall computation. As a rule, I try to keep my test cases totally independent. In your example, the execution of the second test depends on the state left by the first test. Here's a procedure that might help. It's similar to your code, but it's designed to be used locally within a test-case. It also checks that any auxiliary threads are no longer running when the main computation finishes. You may have to customize it to get what you want. ;; check-threads : (-> any) -> any ;; Runs thunk; raises error if any subthreads created by thunk raise ;; errors, or if a subthread outlives thunk's computation. (define (check-threads thunk) (let* ([main-cust (current-custodian)] [sub-cust (make-custodian main-cust)] [sub-exns null] [old-uncaught-exception-handler (uncaught-exception-handler)]) (parameterize ((current-custodian sub-cust) (uncaught-exception-handler (lambda (exn) (set! sub-exns (cons exn sub-exns)) (old-uncaught-exception-handler exn)))) (let ([result (thunk)]) ;; Check that sub-custodian has no living threads. (let ([threads-still-going? (ormap thread-running? (filter thread? (custodian-managed-list sub-cust main-cust)))]) (when (pair? sub-exns) (error 'nice-threads "child thread raised exception")) (when threads-still-going? Is that it? With PLaneT there certainly isn't the need for Schematics that there was beforehand. I still think it has the following roles: - It provides a public svn account, allowing collaboration, without requiring you register your own Sourceforge project, or setup your own repository - It provides a modicum of publicity - It provides a generic name, schematics, for projects, allowing easier change of ownership. (This is a minor annoyance with PLaneT. I've updated the web pages with all the projects listed on Planet as being owned by Schematics. If you run a project that you'd like to see listed add it (the html is in svn) or let me know. Furthermore, if you'd like svn access let me, or any other administrator, know. I see some people are still using CVS. http://schematics.sourceforge.net/new/projects.html Chongkai Zhu <mrm...@ya...> wrote: > I don't know whether I count as a non-native speakers or not now. Yes. It isn't obvious though, whether the source on SF of packages distributed through PLaneT is up-to-date. It might be worth to go through the SF directories to see how many of the projects still run in version 360. Although I am a little worried about the outcome. /Jens Axel |

Maybe you could mention SRFI. I constantly keep an eye on SRFIs. Most updates are directly put into PLT SVN now, but the collection/srfi/doc.txt still says that this is a Schematics project. > - Is it obvious enough that Planet is the primary distribution mechanism, and most of the code > for download from SF it out-of-date?
