Formats currently supported are the Shimadzu UVPC .spc files (note the .spc files created by shimadzu UVProbe software are not supported yet) and the OLIS XTML files. If you can export to plain text or spreadsheet format, it is fairly easy to get those into scanedit format, but ideally you should be able to load your spectra directly or after a simple drag-and-drop conversion. If you will post sample files from your instrument, with different number of points, number of spectra (if more than one), time constant, slit width, and scan speed, we will try to interpret it and provide a module to read it.

The attached .pdf has instructions for setting up a .csv (comma-separated values) file for import into the old quickbasic program. I'm just adding the import options for the VB version- the instructins to prepare the file will be the same but you need to wait for the next update to use them with the VB version. Then you can open it under file:import:CSV or by dragging onto the scanedit icon, or onto the drop port of the running program.

The new VB scanedit that we will be releasing shortly has much expanded capability for loading csv files, including with sampling interval not a submultiple of 10 /nm (like 4 or 8/nm), or less than 1 per nm. The csv can be opened by dragging onto the scanedit icon to start it, or with the program running open through file:import or drag onto the drop target. Updated instructions for preparing the .csv, with more examples, are attached.
For other formats and format conversion, I recommend Friedrich Menges' Spectragryph program (http://spectroscopy.ninja/), which reads and writes a large number of different formats. You may even be able to use his software to run your spectrophotometer and save data in the format you choose. - Ed Berry
Forgot to mention- the new version was released last Spring, and with it the latest version of the documentation for importing data (which may be the same as that attached to previous post). https://sourceforge.net/projects/scanedit/files/openspectralworks-1.0/doc/dataimport.pdf/download

Does scanedit support the native file format of my spectrophotometer?

Could I get some instructions on importing spectra from a .csv file?
