If you got the pre-relese version dated June 3 2019, you should replace it with the current version! in the 1.0 full release, the consol/dashbord form with the list of spectra was not updated to reflect changes in the list due to operations not through the dashboard (such as deleting all spectra or loading new spectra. The original idea was that the console would be invoked to select traces for specific operations, and dismissed afterwards. It turns out to be convenient to keep this open, like a...
In between full releases, updated executables will be be placed in the "pre-release" folder. If you find a bug in the version you are using, check if the pre-release version is newer, and if so check if the bug is fixed in it. If not, please let me know!
It may not be obvious how to ask a new question on this discussion board. You click the left-hand link "create topic". You will have a choice of the three forums, or it will default to the forum you were reading. While you are reading onother post, there is always the option to reply to that post. Forgot to mention- the new version was released last Spring, and with it the latest version of the documentation for importing data (which may be the same as that attached to previous post). https://sourceforge.net/projects/scanedit/files/openspectralworks-1.0/doc/dataimport.pdf/download BTW it may not be obvious how to ask a new question on this discussion board. The new release contains a much advanced single VB program that incorporates the functionality of the old quickbasic suite, is relatively intuitive to use, and has considerable documentation including three step-by-step tutorials. Further documentation as well as any program upgrades will be available in the "pre-release" directory. - For more information before deciding to download, look at the pdf's in: https://sourceforge.net/projects/scanedit/files/openspectralworks-1.0/doc/, especially "GettingStarted"...
The new version is made with VisualBasic, and will not run natively under linux. However it does run very nicely in wine on linux. This was tested using wine distributed with Fedora 14, which is wine-1.3.24. Preformance was not noticeably degraded compared to a windows system. It is an old version (6) of VB, using ".com" instead of ".net", but microsoft has promised support of VB6 through the lifetime of Windows 10. It may be necessary to install the "common dialog" ocx control, which we supply together...
The description suggests support for linux. Will the next release run under linux? Me
The new VB scanedit that we will be releasing shortly has much expanded capability for loading csv files, including with sampling interval not a submultiple of 10 /nm (like 4 or 8/nm), or less than 1 per nm. The csv can be opened by dragging onto the scanedit icon to start it, or with the program running open through file:import or drag onto the drop target. Updated instructions for preparing the .csv, with more examples, are attached. For other formats and format conversion, I recommend Friedrich...
