Hello everyone, It's been a while since the last release, but we're glad that today we're able to announce the next official release of The Ur-Quan Masters. We're calling it 0.3, and it's still an alpha version. Nonetheless, it's very stable and it's got lots of improvements over the 0.2 release. To name a few: - We've got a much improved input system. For the user the main advantage is that it's much more configurable (though this still requires editing a config file). - The content files stay in .zip files. This saves you over 13000 separate files on your hard disk, and greatly improves installing speed. - The number of save game slots has been extended to 50. - You can get a conversation summary when talking to aliens, like the PC version of Star Control 2 had. - The much-loved PC out-takes are waiting for you when you finish the game. - There are 2 additional ship slots for your Melee fleet, for a total of 14, which not entirely coincidentally is how many the PC version of Star Control 2 had. - We've fixed lots of bugs. You can find the much longer, complete list, at http://sc2.sf.net/WhatsNew. To download all this goodness, we happily direct you to our download page, at http://sc2.sf.net/downloads.html. We hope you enjoy the game, The Ur-Quan Masters development team |
