If a rate law of the form v = f (So) is linearized around the operating point So, we obtain the linear approximation:</p>
<p>v = vo + dv/dSo (S - So)</p>
<p>dv/dSo is the unscaled elasticity at the operating point, So. vo is the reaction rate at the operating point So and S is the input concentration to the equation.</p>
<p>Where to put it? There are a number of possibilities, one is to form a new category under rate law (SBO:0000001 - rate law), called Generalized Rate Laws.
