The text states that the type of attribute 'id' is UnitSIdRef, but in fact it is UnitSId.

    I would call this a typo, particularly since the UML diagram has it right, the text description in the rest of the paragraph makes it clear that the point is that the id is there to be referred to, and the fact that the syntactical restrictions on UnitSId and UnitSIdRef are identical.
