(Reporting what another person who managed to make 0.9.3 build told me)
In tools-for-build/sparc-funcdef.sh, make is used to make sparc-funcdef.o
without specifying $CC, so it uses cc (the default for make) instead of
gcc. Adding CC=gcc to the file fixes the problem.
src/runtime/Config.sparc-sunos fails if as is gas because gas doesn't
understand preprocessor definition options like -DSVR4. But then, gcc with
gas and gnu ld on sunos is unsupported (and not recommended), afaict.
Currently building sbcl-0.9.3 with sbcl-0.8 and gcc-3.4. It seems to have
just begun the third phase, with no other problem so far. Is there any
known problem associated with that version of gcc that wouldn't be
uncovered in the bootstrapping process?
