Good evening, SBCL might (*might*) be part of Google's Summer of Code 2013. Christophe and I quickly came up with this <http://www.sbcl.org/gsoc2013/ideas/> list of projects that seem doable over the course of two months, for someone who isn't yet acquainted with our code base. The list might seem long and daunting, but I'm hoping that any single one of the projects would prove to be an interesting, but solvable, challenge. I tried to make sure all the projects had tangible results quickly (after a couple days or two weeks of hacking at most), and that the goals could be extended in challenging and exciting directions as more milestones will be reached. The reason we are doing this *now* is that it's part of the application process as a GSoC organisation. However, I believe the list is interesting independently of the Summer of Code. If you would like guidance on any of these projects (or others that aren't in the list), I think the team would be more than ready to help, via this mailing list or the irc channel [*]. If you want more details on a particular project (especially one that isn't described yet), I'll be happy to answer or redirect questions. [*] I'll note that I'm personally much more strongly motivated to assist someone who's managed to build, test, and install SBCL from git, and has already submitted a patch that is in the process of being committed (or has been committed) whatever the patch… a small bugfix, improved documentation, a performance tweak, or even corrections for spelling and grammar mistakes in error messages or comments.
