beeing a Lisp/SBCL-newbie I was curious and deleted the CLISP-based
Maxim/wxMaxima stuff from my system repos and recompiled it from current
1) System is openSuse 11.2:
@uname -r -m -o
184.108.40.206-0.7-default x86_64 GNU/Linux
3) The "make check" error for Maxima:
Error found in /dev/shm/ram/maxima-5.21.1/tests/rtest8.mac, problem:
1 test failed out of 8,367 total tests.
215.914 seconds of real time
215.606223 seconds of total run time (213.658519 user, 1.947704 system)
[ Run times consist of 7.168 seconds GC time, and 208.439 seconds
non-GC time. ]
12,712 forms interpreted
5,180 lambdas converted
517,705,728,039 processor cycles
21,343,496,960 bytes consed
The ratio 8.366/1 looks quite healthy, nevertheless one error occurred.
No idea whether this is a Maxima or SBCL-issue or this is important at
all. For C/C++ sources I would try to figure this out more detailed or
even to provide a patch. But for Lisp ... You will know it better:-)
Kind regards, Heinz van Saanen

While this may be due an SBCL bug, this is probably best reported to
Maxima guys, since they're going to be way more efficient in finding
out what the issue is (as in, what is it that SBCL does wrong), at
which point we can try to fix it.
Have you reported this to them yet?
