I'm trying to compile the CL-STATISTICS package (1.0.0.1-6, out of Debian unstable) with SBCL (0.8.4-1, also out of Debian unstable), and I see the following: * (multiple-value-bind (truename warnings-p failure-p) (compile-file "/usr/share/common-lisp/source/cl-statistics/cl-statistics.lisp" :output-file "/tmp/cl-statistics.fasl") (list truename warnings-p failure-p)) [[...lots of compilation messages skipped..]] ; compiling top level form: ; compilation unit finished ; caught 2 WARNING conditions ; caught 2 STYLE-WARNING conditions ; printed 4933 notes ; /tmp/cl-statistics.fasl written ; compilation finished in 0:00:41 (#P"/tmp/cl-statistics.fasl" T T) * So there are warnings and style-warnings in the log, no errors in the log and the output file gets written. But COMPILE-FILE reports warnings *and* a failure. This completely horks ASDF, which actually pays attention to the result flags; then the COMMON-LISP-CONTROLLER package carefully cleans up the FASL file. The upshot is that the CL-STATISTICS package is broken for SBCL. Can anyone provide some suggestions on what to do next? Thanks, Derek |
