I would like to announce you the project I've been working on.
MozillaRhino engine directly from your XSL stylesheet file while
transforming it using Saxon XSLT processor. Now I can say that I've created
something that actually works. The project is not even beta yet, but the
conception itself might be interesting to some of you guys. You can check

There is a test folder inside the project structure which contains a simple
example of how to use that (
You can also find NetBeans project, which you can use to open it.
Note: you'll need to have Apache ant installed in order to run those
examples (Apache Ant build script is also included into the distribution
What it does:
1. Using JS as a language for creating extension functions.
2. Using JS to produce the output (when it's needed some complex logic which
won't be possible to implement in plain XSL).
3. Passing parameters from the transformation into your script.
