Hi Michael

 I some how had missed this. I had kept empty string for local name of attribute

atts.addAttribute("", "", attName, "CDATA", attValue);

this was creating conflict

when it came to this line

xmlHandler.startElement(XMLConstants.NULL_NS_URI, nodeName,nodeName, atts);

So I finally came to know that local name should always have a value. :)
Thank you very much for all your patient replies.

Rajath

I tried with changing the fileOut to URI (

Did that program ran without any errors for you?

I am out of clues. :( :( :(

You fixed the second problem and not the first one.

I had to change three places where you fail to supply the localName - two calls on startElement() on lines 45 and 72, and one call on addAttribute on line 88.
