This isn't a Saxon limit, it's a limit in the XML parser. To configure the parser behaviour, supply the input in the form of a SAXSource, containing an XMLParser with the right properties set. I don't think this can be done from the command line, I'm afraid.

Subject: [saxon] Transformation Problem

I'm trying to transform a large XML document (~180M) using the Saxon 8.0 and getting the following error:

[java] Error on line 803579 of file:/phome/rchinta/xml/martbook.xml:

[java] Error reported by XML parser: Parser has reached the entity expansion limit "64,000" set by the Application.

[java] Transformation failed: Run-time errors were reported

Is it possible to configure Saxon to have no maximum entity expansion limit?

I'd appreciate any help or suggestions!
