Wolfhart - I don't know what the status of those extensions is in the Saxon distribuion, but if you can compile java, it's not very hard to create them, or you might want to re-use this implementation that I wrote: https://github.com/msokolov/lux/blob/master/src/main/java/lux/functions/file/FileExtensions.java.
