Is it possible to switch the audio input from the soundcard (using
OSS) to a playlist or single MP3 file for a short period of time?
Ideally I'd like to be able to switch the input source using telnet.
I've been playing with the switch function but it doesn't seem to work

any obvious way of switching the sources in telnet. Am I missing
something or is this currently possible?

I think you need our mix() operator. It's a mixing table controllable
via telnet, and the liGuidsoap GUI for more convenience. Note that it
starts with all inputs shut, then you have to activate one by telnet,
and when you want to play another one it's also a matter of two other
commands. Keep in mind that you can define compound server commands
from your script, and also execute such commands.
You could also try a track insensitive switch with some dynamic
condition, checking something via a system call or checking the value
